Basketball Bouncing Round County!

Basketball festivals have been taking place for young people around the county.

Pupils from Law, Dirleton, Aberlady and Gullane Primary Schools took part in the festival at North Berwick Sports Centre. While pupils from Kings Meadow and St Mary’s Primary school attended the festival at Aubigny Sports Centre in Haddington.

The lucky pupils from Dirleton and Aberlady had the opportunity to attend a second festival at Meadowmill Sports Centre along with pupils from Humbie, Athelstaneford and Elphinstone Primary Schools.

East Lothian Council’s Principal Officer-Sports Development, Stephen Duff, commented, “The pupils at each of the festivals were absolutely fantastic to work with. Their enthusiasm and commitment to fair play was excellent.”

Students from Edinburgh’s Telford College based at Meadowmill Sports Centre provided the pupils with additional coaching and officiated the matches. Their involvement in the festivals contributed to the smooth running of each event and also provided the college students with valuable learning experiences.
